Anxiety disorder is a complex psychiatric condition characterized by intense and persistent feelings of excessive worry, fear, and dread. With the rise of urbanization and lifestyle changes, anxiety disorder has become increasingly prevalent, posing a significant challenge to public health. So, it is a problem that needs to be solved urgently in public health due to the complex pathogenesis and difficult clinical medication of anxiety.

Zebrafish (Danio rerio) is a popular and valuable species used in many different biomedical research areas. Zebrafish neurotransmitter systems develop during embryogenesis and are functional in larvae. The brain, vascular system, liver, kidneys, and intestines are fully developed and functional on day 2 after hatching. These findings highlight the similarities between neurochemistry and behavior in mammals and fish, that allow the use of zebrafish in behavioral models of anxiety.

Our Zebrafish-based Scientific Evaluation of Anti-Anxiety Efficacy

Recent research has shown that mCPP, a non-specific 5-hydroxytryptaminergic agonist, can induce anxiety by affecting the 5-HT pathway.

At Creative Biogene, we conduct rigorous experiments to evaluate the anti-anxiety potential of your dietary supplements/probiotics by inducing anxiety in zebrafish using mCPP. We carefully divide zebrafish into three groups, including a vehicle control group, a model group, and a dietary supplement/probiotic group, to ensure accurate results. The vehicle control group remains untreated, while both the model group and dietary supplement/probiotic group ingest equal amounts of mCPP by dissolving it into water. After adding your products, we evaluate various indicators to discover the relationship between your products and anxiety. Details are as follows.
